Gulf Oil Spill in Bible Prophecy

Let's face the truth - Gulf oil spill is about to last a lot longer than anyone expected. It seems that we don't have pinhole or broken pipe that needs to be fixed  down there - it appears to be a crack hole with gushing oil. Third attempt to stop the leak has failed big time, and now the evacuation of population has been considered on the top level. US National Guard has been drafted in many of the southern states and whistle-blowers are ranting about billions of dollars that are being prepared for the evacuation of Southern states.
Strangely enough, this situation may have been depicted and predicted by the Book of Revelation prophecy:

8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
8:9and there died the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, even they that had life; and the third part of the ships was destroyed.

What could be the meaning of these words?

a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea - isn't this oil rig?
and the third part of the sea became blood - crude oil is reddish!
and the third of the ships were destroyed - this probably concerns fishing industry vessels.

If you find it hard to believe that the Gulf spill alone can kill 1/3 of animals and destroy 1/3 of ships, then please read about other oil spills and accidents.

  1. Only God knows if this is what Paul saw, but it is strange that so many of us have had the same thoughts. I was just watching a news video one evening & was shocked by the colour of the oil - I had expected black/grey! It suddenly came to me....a third of the sea became blood...and I sat there stunned, thinking 'could this be..could this possibly be what Paul saw??' Because we also have to keep in mind what his 'life' experience was and how he would decribe some of the visions he had because of the time he lived in........how differently would those visions be described now, based on the visual experiences most of the world's population has been exposed to. Our world is a much different place than it was in Paul's time. None of us will know exactly WHEN, but I believe the 'buds of spring' are beginning to appear all around us!

  2. I am no prophet but it sounds like to me a valcano eruption in the ocean.

  3. I am no prophet either, but analyzing the recent frequency of earthquakes, I do agree that this is no man-made event.

  4. I'm just wondering what a big hurricane would do to complicate things.

  5. I believe it is possible....I have thought this as well.

  6. Some could argue that Jesus' crucifixion was a 'man-made' event and therefore not prophecy...

Let's put it all together though,
    Wars? Check.
    Rumours of wars? Check
Earthquakes in diverse places? Check and Check
Keep in mind that the Gulf flows into the ocean, so this being yet another sign is beyond possible.
God gave us signs so that we could discern the times and prepare so that we would not be taken unaware.

  7. yes, and the fire referance could easily be the fact the rig exploded, causing a mountain of fire, now spewing blood from the earth..

  8. To the blogger who keeps saying Paul saw the Revelation visions: Sorry luv, it was the apostle JOHN, when he was in exile on Patmos isle. This may or may not be the fulfillment of that prophecy. The Book of Rev is an overview, and does not go into intensive detail. There will be many things that happen that were not recorded. This underground volcano fits the prophecy. However, an asteroid hitting the ocean would have the same effects. IIt is known that there is an asteroid, a flaming rock the size of a mountain, heading towards this planet. Take your pick. One way or another, this oil rig event does not augur well for humanity and is certainly of Biblical proportions, and likely a precursor of more events as we rapidly move towards 2012. Notice, since 2010 commenced, every single month there has been a terrible event!

  9. Acoording to the Book of Revelation, the 7 year Tribulation is in the process when the judgements of Seals, Trumpets, Bowls are poured out on the earth. And the Rapture has already happened - removing all born again Christians from the earth. This Gulf Oil Spill is not one of the Revelation judgments. However, it does appear similar in description. It is definitely as sign of things to come. I recommend a wonderful book: Revelation Unveiled by Tim LaHaye. Amazon has it.

  11. heyzues a Roman lie by paulSeptember 10, 2010 at 3:01 PM

heyzues crisptoast is not a son of Yahuah God Most High. Judgement is coming, not by heyzues, but by the real Anointed- Zerubbabel. Yahuah will destroy the Beast christianity with its idol mark the cross and its name heyzues the christ. Yahuah is our only Savior. There is no 7 year tribulation. The reference in Daniel speaks of the Anointed making covenant with many, not the antichrist, which is really the False Prophet paul.
